Mining & Resources

The resource industry is increasingly benefiting from private LTE network technology to facilitate automation, analytics and remote communications. We have delivered our solutions across Surface, Underground and Remote Exploration sites, in some very challenging physical environments.

Our solutions also assist with delivering high performance accommodation entertainment networks, rapid deployment communications networks for exploration in remote areas and platforms for Industrial IoT deployments.

Remote Area Communications

Aqura’s Autonomous Rapid Communications (ARC) solution solves the challenge of delivering high speed connectivity in remote locations where no communications infrastructure exists, but access to operations and performance systems is a must.

The ARC is a fast-deployment communications platform which integrates satellite backhaul acquisition, communications infrastructure, power and LTE transmission into a form factor that can be towed by a light utility vehicle.

Underground Mining

A ubiquitous and reliable data network is essential for underground mining as operators move to leverage the benefits of digitally connected mine operations, however it is a difficult environment to successfully deliver in.

Aqura designed and deployed our first underground LTE network in 2017 and our successful track-record in designing, integrating and deploying industry standard technologies including 4G LTE, Industrial Wi-Fi and Wireless Personal Area Networks continues to enable the next generation of underground mining.

Benefits of Aqura Underground Mining Solutions

Productivity
Personnel Tracking
Live-Video
Real-time Production Reporting
Integrated Monitoring
Advanced Communications
Low infrastructure footprint
Safety System Access
Equipment Automation
Aqura’s innovative approach to communications technology overcomes the significant challenges of traditional underground communications networks. We were the first to deliver an underground high-capacity LTE network in Western Australia. This, and subsequent networks for other customers, continue to deliver high performance today.

Our underground Industrial Wireless solutions deliver significant benefits

  • Real-time, low latency data feeds to optimise production
  • Minimal interference from equipment or terrain
  • Enhanced voice and video communications
  • Lower infrastructure footprint
  • Better integration opportunities with surface networks

Village Entertainment

Our Content Access Network (CAN) platform provides reliable communication and entertainment services providing a ‘Home-Away-From-Home’ experience in worker accommodations.

Our CAN platform is very highly cost-effective, optimises available bandwidth resources, and delivers a better user experience.

Worker Wellbeing

The ‘Home Away from Home’ experience delivered by our CAN platform has contributed to our platform being identified as a source of improvement in the mental health and well-being of remote based workers at a number of installation sites.

Fulfilled Team

Availability of content in worker accommodation following shift changes puts immense pressure on infrastructure – phone and Internet. Our CAN system automatically manages finite backhaul bandwidth to enable equal access to all users.

Better Link Management

Connectivity to remote mine sites is an expensive exercise. Aqura’s CAN ensures you can maximize the link you have whilst providing an equitable service to all who use it.

Autonomy

Increasingly resources businesses are looking to the benefits of LTE to overcome the issues with traditional wireless access technologies and open the door for the introduction of equipment automation, real-time mine optimisation and enhanced reporting of mine activity.

When coupled with our LTE technology, our Industrial IoT communications platform further expands the ability of operators to harness the benefits from a digitally-connected operation.
